Sourcing: It is sourced from ‘Allepey’ – a Southern district of Kerala.
Culinary Usage: Is used to flavor the different varieties of chaat. These include aloo tikki, papdi chaat, and pani puri. Other traditional applications include sprinkling it on salads. Blend this frequently used masala in Indian cuisine as a finishing sprinkle over parathas, salads, raitas, fruits and even some beverages.
Nutritional Benefits: The antioxidants in chaat masala spices may include ferulic acid, which comes from asafoetida. Chaat masala is rich in iron and calcium because of the ingredients like amchur powder, cumin seeds and hing. And cumin seeds are also rich in minerals and magnesium.
